Key Shortcuts- from 8 to 8.1

I looked and could not find this toppic. When we changed from AC7 to 8 the file u save in the Keyboard Shortcuts was easily copied into the new AC8 folder- I now need to do the same to 8.1 and cant find the file- does this make sense, does anyone understand what I am talking about? Please help, thanks in advance...

In Windows, the preference file(s) that you refer to are now stored in "Documents and Settings\[USER NAME]\Application Data\Graphisoft\...".

I'm sure that Mac has a similar location.

Do the old pref files work in ArchiCAD 8.1. I mean those from ArchiCAD 8.

Worked for me when I tested the Beta of 8.1. Don't know if this is still the case - I haven't had much time to test it.

I was also part if the beat testing team but I never thought to try it.. I have since tried it but to no avail.. May be I need to take a closer look..

The specific file- is saved and named by you (the user). But i cannot find it. I already copied some of the user prefs files and renamed them for 8.1, but that isnt working. Im not sure what file it is that keeps this information (the keyboard shortcuts). So if any one has any idea- thats what im looking for that i just cant find. I know it exists because I did it from 7 to 8. Yikes-sorry. Hope this helps to explain a little better...

You can find the in question in user/libary/Graphisoft\ArchiCAD 8.0 Lasting.prf. It's hidden quiet deep..

The file that you are looking for is "ArchiCAD 8.* Lasting.PRF".

I just tried renaming and substituting the current "8.1 Lasting.PRF" with and older "7.0 Lasting.PRF"... Doesn't work.

Unfortunately, I no longer have an old 8.0 PRF file to test this. But I presume that a renamed .PRF file created in AC 8.0 should work in AC 8.1.

i did try that- in fact i replaced all three prf files that way with no luck. It did arrange my windows to my agreement, my my Keyboard shortcuts list is still no where to be found.
