Line appears in elevation when a wall is split.....

Looking for a little help... when I split a wall in plan, keep one part of the wall showing as a solid line and the other part of the wall showing a dashed line, the actual split shows up as a line in elevation. Is there any way to get rid of this? I can get around the problem in elevation by masking the line with a hatch, but when I go to the 3D window the line still appears. Let me know if you have any suggestions for a fix...

Thanks Mike

mike - the line should disappear in elevation if the walls are the same material and coplanar. you will always see it as a contour in the 3D window, but it won't render . . .
