Live Archicad->Plotmaker updating possible in 9 yet??

Thus far we've found it impossible to update archicad viewsets in plotmaker 9 on windows NT. 8 could do this just fine. But at the moment - we have to ensure that the archicad project file is closed in order to import (or update) any viewsets.

IS THERE A FIX AVAILABLE FOR THIS? It makes it very difficult for us to work as a team - or even to multitask.

Thank you,
Jonathan

Does ArchiCAD 9 really work on NT?

Updating works fine on XP Pro. I mean you can have both the ArchiCAD/Plotmaker Project open and update plotmaker without any problems.

over a network too?

JD,
What actually happens? Do you get any error messages? Does ArchiCAD or Plotmaker crash?

Cheers.

Sorry about the delayed response.

What happens is that we get a warning message in PM that says "an error has occurred" and it lists the filename in a dialogue box... and then we get just an empty frame and title in the lower left corner of the 'sheet' that does not update or anything.

It might be that you have an invalid object, slab or mesh hole in the AC file. Check in the tips section for the forward merge tip or read this.

Nice thread eduardo,
That could definitely be the problem. Always worth a try.

Cheers.

Thanks - I'll try that. Though I think it might be due to a custom window object that I was getting some errors on. I miss my PMKs!!!

Anyway - I did a simpler version of the merge - just a STRAIGHT merge with a corrupt plotmaker LBK file in 8.1 about a year ago. That's a great trick. Just re-merge the sheets from a corrupt book into a virgin one. It seems to shed most of the problems.

Can't you still use just PMK's in V9.0?

We do in V8.1
No background Archicad or problems with libraries.
Publeish the PMK from Archicad and import into Plotmaker - it's all so simple!
