MEP 27 - The New Feature that never happened

Can someone from Graphisoft please step up and own the current abject failure to deliver the renewed MEP Modeller?

Today I joined the many others who have had to return to using AC26 in order to deliver on our MEP commitments.

We all pay out for GS to deliver improvements to AC, yet here we are 7 months later with a key feature broken & software we can't use. Can someone at least tell us what we can expect in terms of delivery of fixing this MEP debacle and when?

It's bad enough struggling with the 3D screen "grey outs", and the disappointment of new features that suddenly became experimental, but finding a fundamental tool is no longer useable... 🙄

Apparently I don't have permission to upload a 2Mb QT .mov video or ZIP files anymore!

@Balint Kezer So back to the problem with branch connections vanishing. In some ways this may be connected with my last suggestion regarding priorities.

I have a video which shows what is happening in this pipe route. It doesn't happen in all situations so I think you need to stress test why it happens at your end e.g. is it down to element creation order?

In the video, a node left by another branch vanishing is simply moved along the pipe. The remaining branch in the video then vanishes and you can briefly see the two pipes either side of the branch have merged. The only thing that I can think may have caused this, is the main run was drawn from the high to the low point. Sometimes we need to designed runs from low to high as the opposite workflow leads to lots of level editing.

Can't you use some kind of cloud hosting facility for the video, share it and post the link?

I did upload to OneDrive but apparently the Link was incompatible. Only so many hours in the day and I need to earn without providing a continuous stream of support to GS. I'm sure we used to be able to upload those two file formats to this forum.

Add a .pdf extension to the end, that tends to work 😀

E.g mymovie.mov.pdf

Just tried your suggestion and failed, BUT apparently you can't upload genuine PDFs either. Looks like this forum isn't a fan of collaboration. 🙄

@DGSketcher

Some info regarding uploads:

  • ZIP version is allowed, but 7z and other zip formats are unfortunately not
  • Now we made it possible to upload MOV format

@Balint Kezer Just for you. 😉

Thanks! With this I was able to reproduce this issue in a new model as well, it happens when you are trying to modify already connected sloped elements. I will investigate this further with the development team and see what we can do about this.

@Balint Kezer I'm guessing this is something that will get fixed... When I publish to BIMx I am getting warnings about inverted elements. Find & Select can't identify these elements, so I assume it has something to do with the new pipes not being fully integrated into the AC ecosystem yet.
