Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Archicad?

Can anyone from G_soft say anything assuring about AC11 working under the about-to-be-released Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?

Just for your info, I had a similar problem in OSX10.4.10 with the AC11 Artlantis Out Add-on, see
http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=104969#104969
Note that the misbehaving add-on HAD pkginfo component, but it didn't work until I replaced it with another pkginfo from a working add-on.
Whatever, the bug isn't Leopard-specific.

I had the same problem with the artlantis studio out, however it had a pkginfo file dated 18/07/2007. I replaced it with the electric image pkginfo dated 11/09/2007. It is now working.
Obviously the pkginfo needs updating.

I posted this solution on the French Abvent Artlantis forums page to copy over the PkgInfo file.
My post was soon replied to by one of the Abvent guys...

"La solution est actuellement de remplacer simplement l'extension .bundle de ArtlantisR-Studio_Out.bundle par .apx

(Applications/ ArchiCAD 11/ Extensions/ArtlantisR-Studio_Out.bundle)"

It seems you need only replace the .bundle with .apx

The PkgInfo file simply identifies the bundle creator and type. For an add-on, this is GSAP and .APX
Alternatively, creator and type can be identified by the filename suffix, e.g. ".APX". Many add-ons have no suffix because they contain the PkgInfo file. The curious thing is that none of this mattered (for ArchiCAD add-ons) until recently.

Since I installed Leopard, ArchiCAD 9 occasionally starts up spontaneously. Has anyone else seen this?

you mean if you double-click a PLN file type or does it just decide 'hey, pick me!' and launches itself for no reason?!

i have put off leopard - probably the first time i've not really felt the desire to install apple's latest offering. but i do have a few questions if those of you who have installed it could take the time...

mostly related to spaces - do iChat, skype and the like play nice with spaces? if they are in a different 'space' from the one you are working in, do you get any notifications regardless, or - possibly better - do they set themselves to 'away' when you're not in that space?

can you have two different safari windows in two different spaces?

does a side dock lock even nasty than the new faked-perspective bottom dock?

is there anyway of disabling stacks?

thanks in advance . . .

I'm not sure what triggers it. Just every so often AC9 launches for no apparent reason. I'll keep an eye on it to see if there s any clear cause.

I haven't tried spaces yet.

No. Many people apparently pointed out to Apple that the "shelf" metaphor was really stupid looking at the side of the screen.

I don't think so, but the way my apps folder/stack opens from the dock is quite cool.

whoa! my spelling and grammar needed a kick there, eh? what i meant was - does a side dock look worse than a bottom dock given the new 'shelf' perspective. was that a no it doesn't? any chance of a quick screenshot of a side dock - understandably, apple's pics don't ever show one. (and yes, i really am that fickle! )

iChat
plays nice, yes
notfication, yes
shortcut to jump or bring iChat to the front - yes
taking over the screen of another mac, Priceless

skype
AFAIK does not work in Leopard

Away message - No

No

Nope, but you don't need to keep folders in the dock, and for the pictures you can add a file to be the top of the list. Anyway, Apple did drop the ball on the preview of the stacks.

Quick Review
Translucent Bar - Like
Dock - On the bottom hidden as always
QuickView - Like
Coverflow in FInder - like
Spaces - Like
Time Machine - Automatic backups with no overhead or hassle, it sounds too good to be true and up to now it is too good.
Browse Network - Improved

Final veredict - No regrets would hate going back to 10.4. If you can do without you can since there is nothing that will WOW you but all the little improvements by themselves look minor but together they are pretty nice. 10.5 can be summarized as a "power user" or "developer" upgrade, regular people might not be impressed.
