MacBook Pro - HELP copy paste from Preview black

Please I need help

AC9 when copy paste from Preview is pick a black. This leaves AC9 unusable on a Mac.

Pasting in Adobe applications is OK

I have tried trashing all GS preferences to no avail. All AC setting are set of transparent fill etc. Same thing happens when pasting in PM.

Any of you have an idea what could be dome I am not able to paste notes in AC or PM.

I have so much trouble just moving to this Intel Mac that after reading the horror stories about AC10 I am postponing it indefinitely.

Hi Albert,

I happen to have a MacBook Pro for a few days that I'm setting up for a friend, so just tried copy/paste and all works fine for me in 9 ... from project preview and notes and elsewhere.

Just to confirm your AC 9 setup: there is no way to upgrade to 9 build 2219 directly on a MacIntel. One must copy the entire ArchiCAD 9 folder from an upgraded PPC Mac into the Applications folder on the MacBook Pro. Having done that, all works perfectly for me, although a little slow because it is emulated/Rosetta of course.

I cannot imagine that it matters as far as the copy/paste is concerned, but I am running the updated WIBU driver that supports AC 9 and AC 10 on MacIntel:
http://www.archicadwiki.com/TechNotes/Running_both_AC_10_and_AC_9_on_Intel_based_Macintosh

AC 10 seems to run well, too. I had one mysterious crash, but otherwise my only complaint is our wait for the missing MacIntel add-ons such as the movieplayer that allows the interactive training guide to be used, and the Spotlight plug-in, which doesn't work:
http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/downloads/tiger.html

I hear that the missing SketchUp add-on is not GS's fault, but that they are waiting on SketchUp to release an Intel-based devkit and version of Sketchup... and something similar for MaxonForm.

Regards,
Karl

Karl,

Thank you.

Try to copy paste from a pdf opened in Preview. That where I have the black image. Unfortunately this is the way to import long notes created in Word. One can paste directly from Word but you lose the note numbering each page starts from the beginning.

Please try downloading a PDF from the web and paste it in AC9 and let me know.

I have installed the AC9 from the CD then I updated to 2219

Hi Albert,

Sorry for the delay - ac-talk has been down as you've probably noticed. I hear their server is having problems...perhaps too many of us!

Well, I can confirm what you noticed about Preview... I did not understand that you meant the Preview application before. Sorry.

But, everything works perfectly with Adobe Reader, which is a free download, so why not just do that?

With Preview, I get either black or white boxes in AC 9 and AC 10, unless in 10 when I paste I select "Embedded Drawing".

With Adobe Reader, I can paste either as actual text or as an image in both AC 9 and AC 10 on the MacBook Pro.

Thanks Karl, yes your suggestion works but I am surprised that AC10 has a problem.

The problem is that Apple's Preview application isn't as good as Adobe's Reader when placing the Adobe-defined PDF format on the Clipboard. I wouldn't blame that on Graphisoft.
