Hello everyone,
my problem with the Curtain Wall Tool started to occur since yesterday.
when I try to fill an empty spot in my curtain wall with a CW window, or when I change the type of window, the whole object suddenly turns black. However, when I check the preview in the settings everything looks fine. I tried everything, the overwrite options, I checked all the settings for mistakes and eventually even resorted to redrawing it but the problem stays the same. For some reason this occurs to all the CW windows and CW doors member types.
Is this a bug or am I simply missing something?
Grateful for any help I can get.
Kind regards,
Seb

Hello,
Did you try to pipette syringe from an existing one ?

Could it be a renovation filter override?
Barry.

Hello BrunoH,
yes but it only works with existing panels, as soon as I want to change them with a panel that is not present on the curtain wall yet it changes to black.
Even when I use the pipette and apply it to an empty spot it turns out black.

Hello Barry,
I controled that too but it wasn't the renovation filter.

Are the surfaces for the new panel being overridden?
Barry.

No, and even when I try to overwrite it, it doesn't change anything. That's the strange part.

When you talk about an empty spot do you mean a deleted pannel.
In this case there is only a hole in place off a pannel.
If you want to place a new pannel in this hole you'll have to activate the pannel tool in edit mode, setup the pannel you want and just clic in the hole to place it.

Yes, that's what I mean. When I place a new window on a previously deleted pannel it turns black. But this also happens when I edit or replace an existing pannel. It's really strange. I have a feeling it's a bug. Since this is happening in two different projects I'm currently working on. And it always happens when I try to change a CW window or a CW door.

Check the Panel Component Settings, it could be set to Override Surface. This panel may be hidden, so check your Work Environment > Tool Schemes > Tool Settings Dialog Boxes > Curtain Wall Panel Tool to see if it is visible. It looks like is is set to hide in the standard Work Environment.
You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
