Mystery-and I'm really desperate

Attached is an Archicad file containing 2 sets of walls – the section through the vertical wall (sec-8) is correct on my screen.
The section through the tilted wall (sec 7) dos not show the wall correctly – on my screen the wall appears "narrow" and is missing part of one side.
both walls are identical - only difference is tilt. sec 7 is perpendicular to tilted wall.
This is a new phenomenon but it affects all of my files – in desperation I have re-installed the software, but got no change.
This makes it impossible for me to work altogether – I'm really desperate.
Pleas help

Thanks – ittai

Am not sure after looking at the plan and sections what the difficulty is. The two sections appear to be identical on my screen. Perhaps some additional information would be helpful in:

1. What are you trying to achieve
2. Which version of AC
3. OS and Hardware ( video particularly)

to Lew Bishop,
your reply is very interesting. On my system there is a definete corruption of the section on the scewed wall (please see the attached jpg from my earlier submission this morning (section-problems.jpg)). As you can see on this attachment, the section does not show the wall properly and it 'hides' part of one side of the section. That is not a mere display problem since the corrupt section has hot spots on it.
My system : AC 8.1 r2 intl, win xp pro, p4 2.8 ghz, 512 ram, ati 9700 pro

thanks - ittai

hi there,

what a strange problem!!!! sorry, can't offer a solution, only the following observations (which you may have already noted):

the section of the angled wall seems to only show part of the composite fill...but...it is somehow offset so that you see the LHS layer of the composite but it appears towards the centre of the wall thickness...

seemed to maybe be a corrupted composite element because when fill of angled wall changed to standard type fill, section shows OK...but...

adjusting the angle of the wall (to say 45°) and the section is as it should be...however it appears the problem only occurs within a defined range of angles...

therefore, not composite, not section, no hidden SEO operators, no other noticable settings problem...

very strange!!!

This is strange. if you view the section toward the bottom of the page (mirror section line) it is fine. If you mirror both the wall and the section, it is fine.

I will tell you exactly what the problem is here... the wall is about 220 million millimeters away from the absolute origin if the drawing on the X axis and 630 million millimeters away on the Y axis (see attached screen shot). Move all the elements closer to the absolute origin of the drawing and the problem goes away.

One should ALWAYS be aware of where they are in the coordinate system when working in ANY drawing program.

Gee, I wish I could see the problem - I even downloaded the file again and opened it with the same results. It is a problem that I cannot see - so will hope that one of you that does may help / or get GS to help. I did notice that the file you referenced and the file on the zip are different - is the zip file the same as the problem?

Great Woody - Since I do not work in MM - it didn't occur - It is always a good idea to check everything.

firstly I would like to thank all the people who took time to answer my questions.

Let me explain why the drawing is so far away from the drawing origin: in Israel we are required to have all drawings on the national coordinate system. This is to allow for all consultants to match their drawings easily. It so happens that Jerusalem is in the region of 630 000, 220 000.

Can anybody offer a solution to this problem or should Graphisoft be asked to solve the problem?

Thanks again,
Ittai
