NESTED MODULES

i'm currently working in v9. i have a file which modules in a number of other files (PLNs) into this 'overall plan file'. my question is, is there a way to skip certain modules in one PLN and yet have another module in the same PLN appear?

Maybe you'd like to reword the question. It's not really clear.

Cheers,

hehehe...sorry

ok...

for ease of drawing on my part, i have split the project into 2 files (it has 7 tenancies) -refer to attached pic-

the horizontal tenancies are (the ones with grids) are one file, and the vertical tenancies (the ones without grids, as i haven't shown their specific layers) are in another file.

both of these files have a module which shows toilets. (you can see them arranged next to each other in the partition walls between tenancies)...

i have linked these 2 files to each other, and have skipped the modules for each link, meaning i will not be seeing the toilet modules from each other's file. as you can see the toilet amenities are not shown in the vertical tenancies.

i have a third file which encompasses both files, used specifically for site plan, roof plan, an overall floor plan etc. i know i could have just done 2 files and have one of them have the site/overall floor plan/etc, but i realised it was easier this way.

the thing is, when i want to look at an overall floor plan (showing the interiors of all tenancies) i also want to see the toilet modules for each tenancy. the thing is, in the third file i have 'skipped nested modules' for both the vertical and horizontal tenancies because if i did, i would be doubling elements shown.

long question short, is there a way to select which modules (within a hotlinked PLN file) to be skipped?

i think i made that question even more complicated

archicad's 'module' capabilities extend only to skipping all or no nested modules.

long answer short: no.

i think you are making the process more complicated than it has to be too:

why not just have the master file which modules in the two tenancy files (skipping nested modules) and the third toilet block file? or did i completely misunderstand your complications?!

a possible suggestion for the next version then...otherwise, i'd have to spend time trying to think of ways going around this problem...
