Not able to get SEO to work correctly

Hello again,

i have a composite slab, and a complex wall sitting on it. i'm trying to get the SEO to get the wall to cut the carpet and underlayment of the slab. the wall materials are all stronger than the floor finishes, but whether i subtract or downward extrude the SEO i get the same result. and of course i can't merge a wall and slab.

I notice the renovation filter is set to 'Sections'.

The MOD file does not have the renovation filters.

Mine is set to 'No Filters Applied'.

Could it be the renovation filter affecting this?

No matter what I look at the slabs and walls are connecting just fine.
