Offset help

Hi,

Just started to use Archicad 11 as we have only just got the upgrade I know we are a year behind and 12 is out also !!!
Did some training many moons ago and have the strange feeling that there is a way to offset walls like in autocad using the guidelines if anybody could refresh my memory if this is the case and how to, it would be appreciated.

Offset is one of the most frequently asked about features. Use the Search link at the top of the page, enter 'offset' and choose 'topics' to find threads related to what you want.

This one has various discussions:

One thing that used to work does not any more:

If you have a series of joined segments, once upon a time it was possible to select one and offset only that one. Now the whole set of segments is offset, selected or not. Makes for an embarrased trainer/BIM manager ... 😉

As a habit, AutoCAD offset is best replaced with Drag a copy/multiple copy. In ArchiCAD, offset is more intended for creating something offset to an existing element, or created a t a distance from an exisiting element or the drawn outline.

The name is the same, but it works a little different. Drag a copy.
