Pet Palettes

To anyone out there...

Pet Palettes - the annoying pop-ups (which even web browsers have options to turn off). Does anyone know how to turn them off in Archicad (Ver 9 for Mac - if that matters) - or to change default.

If they can not be turned off - (I couldn't find in preferences or in manual) - does anyone know how to make them default to extend or stretch a fill - rather than ALWAYS defaulting to MOVE?

For example, 10 times out of 10 times when we select a fill we are looking to stretch it to fill a changed line shape or area. So when one grabs the fill, the default is to move - which we should never do - or should not be doing - and unfortunately due to this default, people are not careful - the the fills are moving.

If moving a fill or line or object or whatever - one would select and drag. When editing the characteristics of an object - again, it is normally NOT to move but to stretch.

Any thoughts out there?

First select/activate the fill tool... then select the fill to edit..... and change the pet pallette to stretch. That should ? make it the default.

EDIT: I just tried this and i don't get consistent results.... maybe someone elses knows more?

AC should remember the last pet palette option you used, no matter what tool it was for. The trouble, in your case, comes when you switch to a tool that doesn't have the stretch option, like in the Wall tool. It will default to the nearest equivalent option - same when you go back to the Fill tool There is no way to change that AFAIK, but you can use F or Shift+F to 'Switch to the Next/Previous Pet Palette Item'.
