You can't make Profiler do it. It only extrudes along paths in a plane parallel to plan. But, you can get the result you want by creating the profile and then modifying the GDL to include a rotate command to rotate the cornice into the correct angle (and then use SEO to chop the ends plumb if that is required).

I think ArchiForma 2.0 lets you extrude along a 3D path, but haven't tried that yet. Anybody?

There may be a simpler way, but here is what I had to do to get this to work.

First, draw a line parallel to your roof/cornice slope.(4:12 slope or whatever)

After you have the line profile shape of your cornice drawn, use the profile tool, draw/create the object using the same slope as the line you have previously drawn. (Using the parallel tool helps).

You now have a cornice at the correct roof angle, but the ends will be messed up as they will not be cut correctly. To fix this, I use the SEO tool and simply subtract a straight vertical slab from each end, thus creating a 45° angle at the end of the cornice.

Depending on how complicated the cornice, you may also use the SEO intersection tool.

I have attached an image to show what I am referring to. The front is a sloped cornice attached to a horizontal cornice.

using ArchiForma 2.0 you can extrude the profile along a 3D path as well as handling the "ends-angle" (I mean the orientation of the final faces).

If you find yourself in this situation very often I suggest you take a serious look at Archiforma. For $175 it fills in most of the gaps in AC's modeling abalitys. 3d profiles, many extrusion types, 3D rotation in Z axis, cutting planes, lots of stretchy hotspots all make it very useful and extremly fun to use. I look for reasons to use it daily now. A must have!
