Question for Aussie

I am working with a guy from Australia and he keeps using a term I am not familiar with.
Hollywood area. I gather that he is referring to some kind of living space, possibly related to an area open to below from the second floor ? It this an Aussie thing or just his own lingo ? What is a Hollywood area ?

I can't say I have ever heard of that term - you might have to ask him.
If I had to guess I would say some kind of entertaining (party) area with all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
Literally a home cinema area maybe?
