So I rotated my site 90 degrees and no matter what I do, the text is either at 90 or upside down...is there a way to make it readable right side up?

If you are rotating the site drawing in the layouts then yes the text will rotate as well.
If you are rotating the site plan in the archicad model then the text should always be readable if you have that option on.

So my fix is to copy the labels and paste them on the layout...works that way

Use the "Rotate Orientation" button to rotate the site plan in Archicad and then save a view of it that you can place on the layouts.
The "view" of the plan remembers the rotation so you could have one rotated and another that isn't if you need to.
