!Restored: ArchiCAD 11 Student Version to 12 Professional

Hi,
I am trying to open a project that was originally created in ArchiCAD 11 student version in ArchiCAD 12 full version. Currently it opens but says that it must revert back to student version to open. Is it possible to convert this over to a full fledge release 12 .pln? Also the 11 has been deleted from the machine, so the when I open the model it is searching for the 11 library parts. Is there any way to get the old 11 library so that I can salvage something workable from this model? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

No.
IF one could, professionals would buy the much less expensive student version to do their work.

well here is the deal. The firm that I just started working for had started a project in the student version to see if they liked the program. Of course they did and ended up buying 3 seats. Unfortunately they put nearly 100 hours into the model in the student version. This was not my decision and I hadn't even started working at the firm, but now I am here and it is my job to fix it. Any ideas?

Start over.
IF you are new to archicad its good practice.
Convention says it only takes 1/2 the time it took the second time around.

Try to load MIgration Library 11, its in your AC12 folder.
It should recognize AC11 parts.

Can you save your plans as DWG to use as a trace reference in the commercial version?

Cheers,

The student and professional versions are completely incompatible (going from Student to Pro, anyway). I think Link's idea is probably your best bet. You might be able to make a PMK or something else 2D, but you probably won't get anything usable 3D out of it.

It's not your fault. Someone at your company should have read the fine print a little closer on that free version before they dumped 100 hours into it.

I have never used the student version so I may be totally wrong here.
I know the file types are incompatible, but can you copy elements from the student model and paste them into a professional model.
Can you open a student and professional session of Archicad at the same time?
Barry.
