Hi,
Could any one help me to understand why my Roof is being shown only partially?
Thanks,
Joseph

Hey Peter

I know what you mean, but those little T's on the roof pivot line point to the upwards direction of the roof. Unless he entered a negative angle for his roof, it would be a normal roof.

You didn't enter a negative angle in your roof did you Joe?

Cheers,
Link.

Hello Link,
Just to make sure, I made a normal hip roof and
the little T's point inward. Then I made the slope
of all the roofs negative and the little T's did not
change direction. They still point inward but of course
they now point down slope instead of up slope.
Thanks,
Peter Devlin

Made one change of raising the Plane Cut to 19' and nothing showed-up at all. Any other changes?

Maybe you should try the others?

The dotted lines are your roof below the cutplane, the solid lines the roof above (as per your settings, uncut lines dashed, overhead lines solid), and as Peter alluded to originally. With your pivot lines the full width of the roof (probably as a result of creating the roof using the multi- roof geometry method) they look like outlines, but are not.

If you want to see the whole roof, change to "outlines only" display, which will disregard the FPCP.

The reason why most of it disappears when he deselects it (which I assume is what he means by showing partially), is because it is set to Cut Only.

Everything about this roof seems backwards to me (except the pitch ). After changing the Floor Plan Display settings, he may want to review the Structure settings.

What's the saying about leading a horse to water?

Okay got it working by the two suggestions:

This took care of the all the ridges to show up the way one would expect.
Thanks.

Floor Plan Display: Projected with Overhead

This also took care of the ridge lines but I do not under stand why the Cut Fill band shows up which the lower limit is the Cut Plane Height to the Current Story and upper limit (to create this band) is some were that I can not figure out where? Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Joseph
