SEO operation

Sorry about all these questions. I must have the most questions on this forum. But here goes anyway.

I have drawn a ramp from the concrete objects library. I put a curving wall on the drawing that should be under th ramp. However, the SEO does not work. It works on the slab below, so I know I'm working it right. Will SEO not work on a curving ramp, or that ramp object? Or won't it work on a curved wall?

Any other suggestions on how I can do that?

Looks like it won't work Tom, master-of-all-question-asking.

There is a similar problem with some StairMaker stair landings that has already been reported to GS.

Maybe you will have to work around this by using a mesh for the ramp. Or overlay it for SEO purposes only. See http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=2484 . And then use the Mesh To Roof add on, in the Goodies folder.

Oh I forgot the rest:

Curl your tongue the right way, cross your fingers, hold your breath, and jump through a hoop.

Easy!

Oh well. I tried it with the mesh. NO go. I wonder if it won't cut the wall because the wall is curved.

I used the mesh that is just like a little strip, not solid.

It's not the curved wall mate - try the solid mesh.

Tom,
Why can't you make a curved ramp with the roof tool
and then put the curved wall under it and then trim to roof?

Tom,
In answer to my own question,
a curved ramp made with the roof tool
will have it's lower inside corner lifted
out of level, so that's no good.
If you make a mesh in the form of a curved ramp,
copy it and paste it, and then de-elevate the pasted copy by the
thickness of the ramp you want, then SEO the original using the
second copy as the operator, you have your ramp.
If you then use the mesh to roof add-on to make roofs that
follow the slope of the mesh and use these roofs (keep them grouped)
to trim the top of the wall.
Delete the roofs and you will have the curved wall trimmed
and supporting the mesh ramp.
I've done this and it seems to work.
