License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Modeling
About Archicad's design tools, element connections, modeling concepts, etc.
ArchiCAD should not allow Template files to be inadvertently overwritten. In the current version this is possible. I cretaed a tpl file by saving as and then closed it. I then "opened" this file via the File menu - as opposed to creting a "new" file from a template.
Saving this file overwrites the TPL file without asking me if this is what I want to do because TPL becomes the current file type. This is not a desirable behavior. There needs to be a dialog that confirms my intention with respect to this template file under all circumstances.

On a mac, once you've finished working on the template, right-click on the file and Get Info. Lock the file with the checkbox.
Now AC will recognize that the file can only be opened as read only and it will ask if you wish to continue. File type stays as pln in the save dialog.
Locking the file does not affect the process of starting a new drawing based on the tpl file.
