Select in 3D and stay select in 2D

Do exists a plugin for select an element in 3D and view it in 2D also selected?
Presently i select the element in 3D easily but is impossible found it in 2D
(wall at different level into many walls slabs roofs ...at same position)
the only way is to convert in 3d the layer and then hidden the others .....
I think Archicad should have this option.

Sifliginius,
What is it that you want to do in 2D that you can't in 3D?
I can't think of anyting you can't change while you have it selected in 3D.
There shouldn't be any need to switch to 2D.

Barry,

I had to cut with roof an intermediate wall for cut it with slope in perpendicular form.

Now i take one minute for it! select in 3D and build in 2D.

In 3D i don't have practice for position exactly the roof and not cut other walls i work with AC12 but perhaps AC15 was possible.

Both the walls and the roofs I would model in the 2D plan.
Then view in 3D and adjust heights if necessary (their x/y position will be correct from the plan).
Then select in 3D and "trim to roof" or use Solid Element Operations to trim the walls.
Much easier to edit this in 3d as you can see what happens straight away.

Yes, i do it but always finally i adjust the exactly slope (par example 53.35 degrees) only in the particular section view.

There are always few circumstances where we need to select elements from 3d window and review those in 2D plan, and edit with reference to the trace or snap the other 2D elements etc.
So as per the need this function should take place.

and also see this link to see how the developers can manage it when the selected objects are from different stories.

To all, for now we can use the 'selections' palette to save the selection from 3D and restore it in 2D.
