Selection in plan/3D window

In AC9 you were able to select in the floor plan elements that you wanted to partially render in the 3D window. In AC10 I selected several walls from the model, activated the 3D window and the entire model renders in 3D. Did I inadvertently turn something on/off?

This is how it works in AC10, due to new functionality.

It's already been discussed here:

You can download an updated US work environment that sets the command/cntrl 3 key to display selected elements or those items in the marquee as it did in 9. I have started with this work environment and it seems like a good stepping off point. You still have full functionality of the new features in 10.
