Separating slab into two separate parts. How?

I have created a slab with pretty complex shape. It took me a several minutes to make it. Now i have saw that i have made a mistake, and i want to separate it into two different slabs. How can i do that (without creating these two separate parts from the very beggining)?

Thanks.

Edit menu -> Reshape -> Split

You might have to do some cleanup afterward.

Often the split for a complex shape will also be complex so it's easier to make a copy or two and edit each side separately.

After copying the element I use the split command, the subtract or add polygon tools and edit it into the required shape.

Here's one I'm working on right now, the green lines are the trace elements which I want to use to split my large slab into.
