Sliding Stacking Frameless Doors

MJScheltema

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to model doors into a project.

Here is an example of the door typology:

I have attempted to use the OOTB doors, Cadimage and the Curtain wall tool. Has anyone had success with this door type?

I am working on this project in AC27 currently.

Operating system used: Windows 11

Hey Mate,

Long time!

You might be able to fake something with CI D&W by actually nominating multiple swing leaves.

And then set the Reveal to Wall dimension as something to fake the leaves as centre stacking.

It'll look whack in floorplan though.

Free leaf single track? I would just use a sliding folding door and just specify it as such... Though I do not see why you would not just use a bifold door; less fingerprints, easier operation, better weather proofing...

Hi,

If I understood correctly would something like this work for you?

CosminF_0-1747723164980.png

I downloaded it from here: https://www.bimobject.com/en/marvin-windows-and-doors/product/marvin_mnmss-biparting

Or this one (which apparently loads as an object, not door):  https://www.bimobject.com/en/aluprof/product/MB-openslide-sextuple-sliding-door

Or you can browse bimobject for something else (be sure to filter the file type by Archicad).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, mate. In this instance, the client lives on a canal and has explicitly requested this type of glazing. What you have suggested is my backup plan, but I also need to make some renders.

I would manually model the panels for a render unless you can find a movable wall object that has custom leafs. There are a couple of movable wall objects around, but I do not know of any that do not have a solid leaf...

Client requests... hopefully they do not come back to you complaining after they find out how annoying it is to operate moveable walls, especially one that will show of their greasy hands...

ps. Actually, you might be able to SEO a shorter one out of a taller one to get the glazing, if you can find one with an offset pivot.

ootb Movable Wall. No toggle for the track, but the object script is editable, and pretty short, so you could edit it to offset / remove the track and divide the panels if you are that way inclined.

Interesting multiple pivot glass external door design ! I wonder how they seal up where the glass meets the glass vertically ? A rubber seal or some other ingenious method ? Would be good to see a detail of it if all possible ?

Weather proofing is probably not all that important if it is only used as a screen on an otherwise open patio or alfresco area.

Yeah true ! But then again you might get a client who wants a similar opening system from the internal living area onto the exterior Alfresco or Patio area too.
