SOLVED!

Snap points don't appear when using offset edge.

Hi. Hopefully a quick an easy one. When I use offset edge and wish to align to the midpoint of another element, the snap point along that element doesn't appear. Snap points are switched on and when I go to draw a polyline from that midpoint there is no issue, only when I am offsetting and edge of an existing element does it not appear. Is this normal behaviour?

Thanks!

Good point.

Snap guides will remain even after the snap points have automatically disappeared.

No need to turn off the autohide option (I am still a bit old school and work as before we had snap guides).

So activate a snap guide or snap node and they will remain until you complete the next command.

That is correct.

You won't get snap points while offsetting a polygon edge or using the offset tool.

The trick is to activate the snap point first and then use then offset.

But you will need to turn of "Auto hide snap points" in the Work Environment.

Otherwise you have to work very fast before the snap points disappear.

The snap points will disappear once you complete your command.

As you see you can uncheck this ( Autohide Snap Points ) option but it can create a mess of snapping nodes and edges while your cursor is moving, or you can move your cursor to the snap node and press Q button to highlight it before offsetting the edge operation.
