Snapping angle

Hi, I am trying to find a solution for a snapping problem. When holding shift key you can draw along specified angles. I did try every possible combination in the input Constrains to solve my problem but I have a feeling ArchiCAD can't get rid of this.

The problem is:

I like to turn off a certain snap angle I am getting and it starts to annoy me ! I rotated my dwg sheet orientation by 265.7 and it keeps snapping to this angle which is too close to ( including opposite angle 85.71 degrees going up ) to horizontal and vertical. In the older versions there was under input constrains some tick I could untick but that's not there anymore. Please see attached screenshot where I high lighted the problem. BTW if I rotate the drw orientation back to zero it works fine again.

Graphisoft support Australia could not help me and please don't suggest to NOT rotate the orientation of a dwg sheet or rotate the actual dwg as they did.

Any feedback would be appreciated

If I understand you correctly you do not want to snap to what is horizontal and vertical to your rotated plan but you do want horizontal and vertical to the screen still?

If so go into your Work Environment > Input Constraints and Guides and turn off the horizontal and vertical guides.
So long as you leave the 'Parallel to Grid' option on (and you haven't rotated the grid as well as your plan orientation i.e. the grid is still horizontal and vertical) then you will be able to snap horizontal and vertical to the screen (grid) but not you rotated plan.

I'm beginning to think that there is no question that Barry is unable to answer. Let me test my theory: Barry, in what year did Australia convert to decimal currency? 😜

1966 if I am not mistaken.

What was the slogan - out with shillings and pence, in with dollars and cents?

Or something like that.

Hi Sid, I just figured out who you are.

See - I knew it! Barry, you're a living legend 🙂

Yes, I used to work for you and Paul Munyard at J-Corp - you gave me my first "industry" job using ArchiCAD 😉 back in 2003.

I'd be keen to catch up if you have the time. Will DM you with my details 👍

Regards,

Sid.
