Solid Element Operations not working after Design Option "Accept & Merge"

We have been experimenting with design options. It has been working fine, but recently after accepting an option and merging it back into the main model, we ran into several issues - the elements all lost their solid element operations and were unable to gain new ones. Also, a bunch of openings disappeared. We had the project backed up so we reintegrated it and did the merge again. The openings showed up, but all of the elements were still unable to accept solid element operations...

Has anyone else experienced this? Seems like some sort of glitch, but maybe I'm missing something.

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon 14 Sonomoa

Not the same case but I’ve experienced other rather glitchy behaviour with design options and hide selection where it felt like the was some mixup with the elements so it seems possible that there are some loose threads in the back…
