Speed Issues in 2d w/ AC10

Anonymous
Not applicable
Wanted to start a new post and see if any one is having issues with speed in AC10 when working in 2d.

I am considerably slower than AC9.

Having issue with clicking a node and when the object is actually moveable I am actually holding the object not on the node I clicked but 1/2" - 1" away (screen distance). I have to drop the object and pick it up again... This one is way bizarre and linked to the lag thing...

I am having lag between actually clicking an object and being able to move the selected object.

Panning is way laggy using the arrow keys.

The conditions are the same for another workstation in office with an ATI graphics card.

Just generally less smooth drafting in 2D. It feels like it may have something to do with the graphics card but is the same on both my machines.

I also turned off tracker and guidelines to see if it helps but it doesn't seem to affect it.

Dunno.

Rod,
I liked your menus. /........ I made a Layer Sets with lists of my layer sets and view option sets.

I am going to play with the calculate menu as well.

I also moved my tool palette to the side as per all of your set ups. It makes sense and it helps shrink the size of my info palette( ) a bit, speeding things up when selecting.
The info palette has been re-organised quite a bit from the default.
On the whole I feel I have gotten ac10 to work speedier than ac9. Just my problem w/ selection is my only complaint.

Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome Greg, appreciate your positive feed back. This is what I appreciate about this list.
As said previously, I'm using a 24" Dell as my primary with my mac 23" to my left.
I've had to get used to slowing down/being more focused when selecting/dragging. Holding my breath to see if there will be any improvement in the next hotfix.
Must admit the improvement in 3D editing help compensate and now I am back in "my comfort zone" of being able to find everything quickly my blood pressure is almost back to normal.

but you still have it horizontal?! try it vertically for a few days - more tiles always visible. and if you ever need to know anything about info box customisation ask mr murray! he even has a spreadsheet dedicated to it . . .

Been there young Ben, the fact that we read horizontally it still makes the info box too wide, (for me that is). And I have most of the often varied selections if not all available to view across my 24" Dell.
