Spotlight-plugin & Intel Mac (AC 10)

Hi,

I've installed the Graphisoft Spotlight-plugin on a intel-iMac but it doesn't work. Spotlight doesn't find for example layers, or other spotlight-metadata.

When I force Spotlight to index a directory I get this errors:

mdimport[18842] CFLog (22): Cannot find function pointer GraphisoftImporterPluginFactory for factory 7ED04876-E51E-474A-99C1-2A60C76EFD0B in CFBundle/CFPlugIn 0x330c80 </Library/Spotlight/Graphisoft.mdimporter> (bundle, not loaded)

mdimport[18842] CFLog (21): dyld returns 2 when trying to load /Library/Spotlight/Graphisoft.mdimporter/Contents/MacOS/Graphisoft

Normally a bundle gets loaded the first time the associated application starts, but that doesn't work.

Is this a intel-mac specific issue?

I cannot say for sure, but I would bet that plugin was made for the PowerPC Macs. Being a plug-in, not a full application, it may not be able to emulate through Rosetta.

If it is not Intel compatible, then let's add it to the long list of issues that MacIntel users have to deal with and which Graphisoft has not documented anywhere... in any consistent, central location.

For example, the 'movieplayer' plugin to use with the training guide is not available for MacIntel... how are those guys supposed to use the training materials/movies? The web page says 'coming soon' ... so we have to check that page every day until it is posted?

Sketchup plugin? Nope.

Maxonform? Well, part of that is waiting on Maxon I believe.

But, it is deceiving of GS to imply that the MacIntel is fully supported when it is not. (Can you tell I'm pretty p**d about wasted time trying to get things to run properly on a MacBook Pro?) Their page here for Intel Macs:

but this page does not address the issues above, nor the issue of WIBU compatability with 9 and 10 (which is addressed on an archicadwiki article that is not linked). This page also indicates that people have to get a CD from their reseller, but people in the US can download the MacIntel version of AC 10 from the gsus web site. And on and on.

I've never been as disappointed in GS as I have been with the pitiful rollout and communication concerning the Intel Macs...ESPECIALLY since they brag about their support for the platform in a Flash movie on the home page, etc.

A Universal Binary Movie Player plug-in for the Interactive Training Guide has been posted to the Graphisoft web site.

I imagine the download link appears on the page for each language/version of the guide. Here is the US version download page - the plug-in is the same for any version, so if you already have the ITG on your Mac, you just need the plug-in to enable the movie player functionality.
