Stacking Windows

What is the trick to stacking windows above one another on the same story and getting only the lower window in the 2D plan view? I frequently put windows above lower windows on gable walls without a ceiling on the interior for ventilation.

Jim,

Unfortunately there's no neat solution.

Create a layer called A_Walls-Clerestory which only displays in your 3D layer sets. Draw your clerestory wall & window on that layer. That way it'll show up in your model and sections/details but not in your plans. You can still dash in the window using 2D linework for dimensioning & reference.

I use a storey for showing ceiling info. A wall here is perfect for showing high level windows

Or ... put the wall above the ceiling level on the same layer as the ceiling, or as Cameron suggests, on a dedicated layer that shows up only in the ceiling plan layer combo.

Adjust the relationships in 3D, of course. Make note that all the standard windows do have a Stacking parameter.
