When I draw it in 2d and line it up with the walls and then go into 3d, I see the stairs extends beyond the wall.
So, the 2D boundary box is not correct since I see parts of the stairs outside its boundary box in 3D.
Is there a way to have the 2D boundary box to be correct?
I tried looking for stairs on the bimobject website, but there is only one BIM for archicad?

Can you post a screen shot or two?
I am not seeing this problem but it is hard to say without knowing your exact settings.
There is a version 20 stair in the version 20 library as well.
Try searching for 'stair' in the object settings dialogue and you will see a lot of stairs in your loaded libraries as well as in BIMComponents.
Barry.
