Stairs - Reversal of Fortune

Stairs and their display options work nicely in plan from the lower level of the stairs. If I go up one story, I would like this same stair to show up with direction of travel arrow and riser lines reversed. Is this possible? or does this go to Wish List?

you want the arrow to point 'down'? isn't that a reversal of graphical conventions rather than a reversal of fortune?

Work-a-round: Turn off the "Auto arrows" and draw it w/ 2D lines. Archicad stairs won't do it ... as far as I know........

Or get Cigraph's Archistair.

I like to see the arrow indicating direction of travel from the floor you are currently displaying. First floor plan shows the word "UP" and arrow going up. Second floor plan says "DOWN" and arrow showing down direction.

I like the workaround of not displaying the arrow and drawing in as 2D lines.

Wishlist item would be to include this as a parameter setting.

I see an argument about draughting conventions brewing here. The school I went to says "always show arrows pointing up". There are arguments for and against this, ofcourse, but for me this is the rule I follow.
It would be good, though, for others who see it differently to have the ability to do it wrong!

I would agree in those cases where the direction of travel is the same way the arrow is pointing. I find a bit of a conceptual disconnect where the direction of travel is down, and the note "DOWN" appears next to the stair, but the arrow is pointing opposite to actual movement.

Being a denizen of the past, I follow the convention that I was taught by my mentor: arrows on stairs should indicate the direction of travel relative to the floor being viewed in the plan. This seems to me to be the most logical approach, and, for my money, seems to be the clearest solution.

Finally, a voice of reason! Now, when will we have the stair parameter to do this? Hey G'soft, are you listening? There are at least two of us who want this!
