Story display in section

Tom Krowka

Am using story display in section. Am unable to remove a crosshatch fill form the display. Have gone to "story level display in section" and have put in air space for all the fills, however, the S/E drawing does not change. Other aspects will change, for example, text style, color, etc. so I know I'm in the right place.
The fill covers the text and story name on the story line.

The default story marker that in AC10 (US version at least) is a piece of c**p. I created my own by saving an old level line symbol as a story marker sub-type. It works OK but needs some tweaks to account for the quirks of the new sub-type. I'll try to remember to post one once I get the details sorted.

Keep in mind that this tool is a bit limited in that it only displays story heights and the stories displayed are set globally (in story settings). They can be turned on and off in each section view. I think it is mainly useful in SD & DD phases where quick generic references are useful. In CDs I revert to the old symbols.

Oh yes, one other thing, I can't find any way to turn off the stupid lines that go all the way across the section. There is a check box in the section dialog but it is always grayed out.

1. If you're using Air Space as the fill, then you should only need to change the Fill Background Pen.

2. You need to give an offset value first!
