T & L Intersections Clean

Michael

Without a patch is there away to clean a simple T or L intersection with priorities matched?

There are seemingly an infinite amount of variables, and sorry to say, but AC 4.55 seemed easy by comparison.

I have tested, researched, turned on, turned off, archiwiki, architalk and still no avail.

SOS

AC10

thanks......

your question and poll ask two different things.

1) Yes, it is possible to make walls clean up without Patches.
2) No, it does not require BIM specialists to pull it off.

I forget her name, but a young woman from Africa posted an excellent graphic some time back that showed how they work. The short version is to make sure each skin of your composites that you want to clean up has the same priority and things you want to take precedence have a higher number

In most cases, that means masonry get the highest number, say 10.
Then studs get 8.
Then drywall gets 6.

The real magic: make sure the "Use skin priority" button is set in your wall parameters or else the priorities don't work.

I just copied Cecilia's wonderful post and graphic (well, the whole thread) over to the Tips forum to make it easier to find in the future. 🙂

Good deal with the tips forum placement of the thread Karl.

.... searched the quoted png earlier with Cecelia's name. Excellent !

Thanks to all of you today that helped in this matter.

.....others must have had similar hardship, understanding the steps of this feature for enhanced functionality, especially if familiar with a earlier wall placement process.

It was tricky. On one hand, you need the ability to control what cleans up with what, in which order. On the other hand, it's a pain to figure out (architecturally, not just in Archicad!)
