Trim to roof issue

Ive encountered this a few times and it doesnt always happen but im not sure what is going wrong when it does.

Sometimes when I trim to roof the wall footprint is shown ontop of the roof?

What am I doing wrong?

The building material for your roof needs to be stronger than the building materials used in the walls.

Or do a Solid Element Operation instead of trim to roof.
