Trimming a truss

I have a lot of small trusses - use the "Pitched Howe Truss 10"
for roof framing. The problem is that the roof tapers at the end and I need to trim the trusses to wall - (see attached picture), I have exploded them for 2-D layout, but would like to have them in 3-D as well. Tried the Solid Elements tool - it does not work with it or I don't know how to use correctly. Is there a way to get this to work? I hate to create that many (14) trusses as custom library parts.
Any suggestions?

Jacek,
You can use the marquee tool to cut the trusses in the tapered area then save them collectively as one library part.

I tried it, it didn't work.
It will only work as a view in 3-D. But wait! if I save that view from 3-D, rather than the library part, I might be able to substitute it for the actual truss. A convoluted work around, but unless there is a way to trim a library part - 'to' - that seems to be the only way.

Yes, it does work.
1. In the plan view, draw the marquee so it cuts the rafters where you want them cut .
2. View this in 3D window
3. Look at it in the orthagonal view mode from the top (as you will place the resulting object)

$. Save 3D window as a new library object.

the new library object is on the right side.
