Tweak .aat-files?

Hi,
I wan't to make a material .aat-file that I want to open in a texteditor on mac and change all materials with "find and replace or similar" and save as .aat again. I still a very lousy mac user after two years. I managed to open the xml-filen in excel and pretty easily exchange all materials to white but after that I don't know how to save back the edited file in .aat-format.
I tried to save xml, txt, prf, txt and manually change the extension but with no luck. Anyone that knows the secret?

P.S..... If some of you US residents accidentally has "Fools paradise" with Lazarus in digital format there is pm function...(I can't get it over here... I have the vinyl though)
