Hey all,
I've seen several posts re: the Up/Down text for the stair tool, and want to pick your brains one more time to see if anyone has found a solution. My office typically models with TO ply as the floor elevation and build a finish floor above this (let's use 3" thick for example). With this, our stair wants to go from +3" first floor to +3" second floor. I want the text UP only to show on the first floor (lower portion as visible and above break mark as hidden), and DN only on the second floor (full stair shown as visible). I have messed with the settings to an exhaustive level (both v27 and v29), and tried the following:
1. Home story + 1 story up -- technically the modeling is considered relevant stories, so this isn't a great option. Above relevant story settings do not show up (ie cannot make changes for the 2nd floor graphics). The linework of the stairs (visible vs hidden) can be changed for each level, so the linework is adjustable just like I want.
2. All Relevant stories -- again, this only provides one set of Up/Down options for the 1st and 2nd floors even though the stair is being displayed on both stories. The outlines of the stairs (visible vs hidden) can be changed for each level, so the linework is adjustable just like I want.
3. All Relevant + 1 story up -- this allows two sets of Up/Down options, however, this makes the stair effectively show on three stories (1st, 2nd, and roof) and the settings aren't referencing the stories I want. It essentially shows one group of settings for the 1st/2nd floors, and then another for "above" the 2nd floor (or the roof level, in the case of this model).
The only way I can get it semi-close is showing only the visible portions w/ a break mark on both floors and turning both Up/Down on in the settings. As soon as you want full visibility or the hidden lines for the full stair, both labels show.
Anyone find a solution to show correctly when you aren't going from 0" story to story? Thanks in advance.
