Fabric,
Please don't misunderstand me. I can't believe that there is no ArchiCAD training in Paris - that your signature says that you are in.
Imagine the next scenario:
A Formula 1 pit stop. You have seconds. The driver raises the helmet and asks "Guys, where is the first gear"?
If you are teaching yourself, which is a heroic task that should be respected, FIRST invest A LOT of your time to learn the basics. Sorry, welding polygonal elements is a basic technique.
Nothing personal, and no offense meant - but, you should be ABSOLUTELY sure that the answer does not exist on the Talk before you ask. Yes, looking for it takes a lot of time. Why? Because people keep on asking instead of looking first. Trust me, I know. If you ever tried to go through ALL the posts even of one day, and then repeated it let's say three times a week, you would understand my point.
However, never doubt that there are people, surprisingly including myself, who will answer the most basic question or point you to the right place where the answer already exists.
