I remember seeing responses like those on the old BBS's which were actually generated by a clever piece of software. It extracted key words from messages and stitched together a response from a stock of phrases using some rudimentary grammatical rules, which often resulted in a message which appeared to have an uncanny relevance to the subject and yet was totally illogical or unintelligible.
People who didn't know this would become progressively more infuriated until they either gave up or someone put them out of their misery and explained the real nature of the 'person' they were talking to.
