You're right in that it's going off-topic.

And to bring it  back to the original question, that requested functionality is one of those things that has long been requested going back as far as I can remember (windows and doors' openings into walls that can be hosted by multiple walls across levels - or which are capable of parametrically cutting more walls than just the primary one hosting them).

We've had to make do with workarounds (using a second 'dummy' window or door expressed as a simple opening in the idential location in the other wall - or with the advent of the Opening tool, using that instead).

In all cases the solutions are clunky and non-parametric (the former throws your window or door schedule off, unless you explictly exclude the secondary 'dummy' solutions which can be a pain the neck to keep track of. And the latter solution while solving the schedule and listing problems maintains the limitation of lacking any parametric connection to the original window or door in case you need to change location or size, and also because you can't group windows or doors with anything the host wall is not grouped with and have them respond in concert. So you have to constantly keep manually monitoring and adjusting them as need be, instead of the changes happening automatically and accurately.)

SEO's would also be another solution but that also brings yet another level of complexity and clunkiness to managing things in your project in a functionallity that should really be properly parametric in a program that boasts of parametric control being one of the key advantages and features.

But (....at this point) there really should be a checkbox option in the window or door properties dialog box that enables multi-wall intrusion to cut adjacent connected walls on the same plane and across multiple stories if need be, while retaining the anchor on the original hosting wall, and updating any window/door specific opening treatment (trims, casing, reveal edges, material definition....etc) consistency across any other wall it cuts.

This is just basic to me.
