Window objects vanishing from model

I have ran into a very annoying problem, some windows from my projetc completely disappeared with no apparent reasons.

As you can see on the attached picture all windows from a single wing of the building completely disappeared leaving only the wallhole (notice this is not an empty opening, as it cannot be selected, its only a hole in the wall ). Also doors were unaffected, only windows disappeared and only from a certain portion of the building. Its the secont time it happenned today. The only starting point for a solution is that the problem seemed to have happenned after I saved the 3D model as .3ds the first time and second time after I created a sun study.

Im completely baffled as to what happenned, I checked layer visibility, wall height, story height, nothing seems to be wrong and the problem occured for no apparent reason as I didnt change any related parameters on anything.

Anyone have any insights?

Check the View\Elements in 3D View\Filter Elements i 3D Dialog to see if Windows are enabled to show.

Yes Lazlo, they were enabled.

As I said, its not a visibility problem, the window objects completely vanished for no apparent reason. When I closed the project and reopened it the holes were also gone (as were the windows).

Find and select gave nothing, schedules didnt show the missing windows anywhere and select all also didnt show anything.

I put the windows back since then but im just curious as to what could have caused this.

Then my guess is that there must be something wrong with the 3d generation of those Window instances.
Were they the instances of one Window object?
Maybe there was some combination of parameters that caused this.
