ZONE TAG PROBLEM

Suddenly, am having a strange zone tag issue. The tag is showing the net area rather than the measured area in the tag. Not only that, but the net area calc is very very wrong.

The calculated are is 3,700 s.f. The net area is shown as .70 s.f., which is what the tag now shows on the plan.

I have turned off the roof & wall & column deductions in the project preferences, although there is nothing in that space that should impact the area anyway.

I have the thickness set at 0" because I am using the zone as a label. I give it a 6" thickness thinking that might help to no avail.

I had just adjusted the zone by removing some opening in it. Update does not change the value. I tried creating a new zone but the new zone does the same thing.

Have been using zones like this for years....and now suddenly some gremlin pops up.

Any help on this issue? Thanks.

What I have seen before is that the way area is calculated sometimes depends on the Zone Stamp you use. THe Zone Stamp GDL can be scripted in various way.
Try it with another Zone Stamp maybe.

I tried it with another one, same result. I did exit the the program, rebooted the computer (shades of windows 3) and set the zone thickness to six inches. Seems to work fine now. Am not sure if it was the computer reboot or the six inches.

I think it had something to do with a default setting of some kind as the zone tag had an area before I even placed it.

Strange.
