Zone Boundaries without Area Calculation

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'm not sure what happened to the file,... but for some reason my zones do not have the 'Area Calculation' associated with them. Many of the headings in the 'Zone Selection Settings' dialog box do not have information inside them.

The Library Manager does not show anything is missing.

I'm using ArchiCAD 10.
Thanks.

Nikana,
this might help:
go to Options
- Work environment
--Work environment profiles
---Check your Zone tool
----Make sure that the Zone area Calculation and anything else that you might want to show is checked "ON"

Then place a sample zone and see what is displayed, you may want to first open the tool itself and select the 'Sow area' on

Thanks Jacek,...
I looked into that, and did have one or two things turned off, but even when turning them on, nothing changed.

I'm attaching an image of what the zones look like. It's almost like there's a missing library part as it has that 'dot' in the middle of each one. (image attached)

Again, Library Manager doesn't show anything missing.

nikana,
- don't panic!
from the screen shot looks like your "Zone Stamps" are not in the loaded library.
Also you may want to check under :
-Document
--Set Model View Options
and set up your zone display as you want to see in in the particular display setting
See attached.
That should cover it. Sorry for the late display but I don't get my e-mail responses until I get home from work.
Good luck!

Zone Stamps are (were) loaded... but still no luck there.

UPDATE: I found the solution under 'Zone Categories', under 'Element Attributes'. I had a missing "Zone Identifier", probably from upgrading the file to a newer version.

Thanks for you help.

If zones are used only to calculate area, I find the fill tool better for this. It is simple AND updates automatically when boundaries are changed.
