Zone Category Colors in 3D

Hi all,

Is there a way to show the zone category color in 3D? I am aware that the zone "color" in 3D is currently assigned by materials but couldn't see anything about zone category colors. So I ask if it's possible and I may have overlooked something? Before I start creating materials with the same zone category color. I think it's useful to have a way to show the same 2D category color in 3D for the same demonstration purposes. Especially if its recommended that zones be used as a building mass tool.

If this should be added to the wishlist, let me know and I will make one. Although I don't expect this one to be as essential as some others. And if there is a related request already on the wishlist, please show me the way and I will vote!

Okay now how do I bring all these new things forward if I ever get the gumption to upgrade ArchiCAD?

One of the reasons I stay in the same version is the fear of losing all this work.

Wait - do you just go and find the old project and import it through the attributes tool?

Is this one of those template things that I'm supposed to be doing?

You can do this or just open a copy of the file for the new project.

Can we turn this into a WISH...

Make the MATERIAL for any given zone DEFAULTED in the ZONE CATEGORIES creationg box.

For the most part, I want that ONE TO ONE relationship... Every time I place a GARAGE zone, I want it purple....

Of course, there are probably others that will want individual control, thus the idea of default (then you can change it per instance)...

While I'm asking, is there any way to create an ON THE FLY material, just using the PEN COLOR of the 2d zone and perhaps a TRANSPARENCY slider?
