License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

attribute manager and materials hatchings appends

Anonymous
Not applicable
When I append my materials list from another file's materials (in this case the CStone materials), the Textures append but the Vectorial Hatchings do not.

All of the CStone attributes that were appended had their Hatchings set to Brick; i had to go to each individually in the OPTIONS/ELEMENT ATTRIBUTES/MATERIALS to set the Hatching correctly.

Why in the world would GS not allow the Hatching to be carried over when appending a material list?

Keep in mind that, with or without the help of an external aat file, you can jump up the ID numbers by overwriting a higher attribute from the current project file (left pane) to the aat/pln file (right pane). Then you can append to that attribute. Doing it in groups is a great idea, Laura.

We have been pleading with Graphisoft for years to allow us to directly edit the ID numbers of attributes. Must be a lot more to it than meets the eye.

Cheers,
Link.

Can you elaborate on altering the ID# of the source file; or is that the best approach?
OK... are you ready for some fun?
Open the Attribute Manager, /........ Done.
Many thanks Laura. Quite easy and now I have my control back over nearly all my fills.
Duplication to get to the wanted ID was the step that I was missing.
Understanding the different implications of when to append as to when to overwrite is the key.
Thanks again, and also to ML.
