somehow, for some reason, dark and unknown...I am getting these fat line returns arond the windows. I want the lineweight to be the same as it wraps the wall...must be a radio button somewhere, a slider or dial or toggle or...any hints? thank you!

Whoops. NOT the trick, not at all. Here are two images (OK, one image, and the next in the next posting). The ONLY change I made between the two is the "use fills" checkbox. The filled sill masks the slab below, clearly, but also has that weird thick return line. The unfilled sill has no thick line issue, but you can see the edge of the slab below. This is weird and disconcerting.

Zobi,
After going through your file, you are correct that it is the fill setting (Parameter's tab, Floor Plan, Use Fills) that is causing this problem.
When "use fills" is on, it also puts a line around the end of the wall and along the sides of the walls to the extent of the casing.

I can't find where one can set this pen. Playing with pen colors I was able to determine that this line is drawn with pen 1.

Has anyone else been able to find the setting for this pen and/or fill?

If there is no setting, hopefully it should be easy for programmers to change it to use the wall contour pen.

Well, I just ended up changing Pen 1 to be what I wanted, and then changed everything else that was using Pen 1 to some other pen. Works OK, but what an ordeal.
In related news, I am noticing that when I turn on the "use fills" for the sills, my ghosted layer is masked...even though my ghosted layer is ABOVE the layer I am working on. This is distinctly UNhelpful to my well-being. But I will learn to accept, if there is no other way. Anyone?

it is helpful because it shows you how archiCAD is dealing with the display of elements over other elements at print time.

it is unhelpful because it masks your ghost storey.

your pleasure is my pain . . . or something like that?

use your display options combinations . . . . and start reading the manual?!

thanks. I do read the manual, and could read it as I might study the bible, but even so, a lot gets lost. The forum is helpful.

Can you set the fill so that it has transparent background?

It is a complex program for sure. So I have set up a display option combo which allows me to see the ghost story for alignment & editing, and another for shipping off to PlotMaker, which has an opaque fill.
