beam surface display

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi, i'm working on a residential Project and for some reason i can't see the steel beam's surface on any of the plans i'm working on, it appears as a wireframe, can i change this setting so that i can see the beam's surface.

I am a new user at archicad so this may be a really basic issue.

Thank you

Sadly, not in plan view. For many years, this has been a much-wished-for feature.

You can fake it with a top down 3D document, but if you really need a plan view with section lines, etc., that won't really help.

There is one workaround and that is to create 2 views.
The first is a 3D doc showing just the beam layer.
The second is a floor plan view.
Place and align on the layout and you have coloured beams
Hope this helps
