cant see vector details on walls in plan view

Hi, I'm new to Archicad and for the life of me I cant see any detail on walls - just black outline filled with white?

Nowhere near enough information to even guess. Are you talking about plan, section, elevation, 3D? Can you post a screen shot?

Also, it would be courteous to add your version of AC and OS to your signature.

It could be any of a number of causes, but my guess would be model view options. If you are using a stock template, there should be some model view options setting for normal floor plans or 'working views' or something similar.

If it's ArchiCAD20 it could also be a graphic override.

But, yeah... give more information.
