I have a complex wall profile that i have created of a 240 Brick veneer wall.
I have also created another material with a brick hatching for the brick fill. Why is the brick hatching not showing on the floor plan view. how can i get this to happen

hi kev,
are you trying to change the fill of the existing brickwork by adding another fill over the top of it?
if so then i dont think it will work, you can add on to either side of the wall, but must set the brick fill to what you want. not fill over the top.

if this is not the case and you are trying to add a fill onto either side of the wall then are you clicking on the 'apply to selection' option in the custom profile box?

i beleive this is correct.

1. The Floor Plan Display of the wall will need to be one of the first 3 (Projected, Projected with Overhead, Cut Only).
2. The Floor Plan Cut Plane must be set to the correct height to cut through the wall (this cut plane is saved as a property of each View).

I did try those 3 things Projected, Projected with Overhead, Cut Only and none of them worked.
I did check the cut plane and it was set to 1150 which i think is the standard.
can you change the cut plane for the complex wall profile, or does it automatically set it to 1150. It seems i have tried everything but i know it would just be something simple.
Thanks for your help
cheers

Kev:

The Floor Plan Cut Plane is set for each View (along with Layer Combination, Scale etc), so you need to set the correct cut height for each plan view with this wall. The "standard height" may not work, the cut plane must be at a height that cuts through the wall horizontally, just as a section line must be in the correct plan location to cut through the model vertically.

If setting the Floor Plan Cut Plane does not work, you can try posting screen shots of:
1. Profile Editor of the Complex Profile you are using
2. The 2D Window with the wall
3. The Wall Settings dialog box
4. The Floor Plan Cut Plane Settings for the View
and someone may see what the issue is.

I have tried to set the cut planes to different heights and nothing happened. I also notice that when i placed a window it shows up in the 3D view but not on the floor plan. Screen shots of wall below.
Thanks for your time

Hi Kev.
Long shot;
I once had something like this happen because I had the story height set to 1ft.
Wall was drawn to correct height, but windows would not show up in 2d but everything perfect in 3d.
So the cut plane (set at around 4ft) could not see the windows.

Kev:

I tried to replicate your wall, and it works here (see screen shot below) so I cannot see why this set up does not work for you. You could try looking at Model View Options > Override Fill Display > Override Cut Fills, but as your other wall is showing its fill, I doubt that this is the issue. To me, it looks like the Floor Plan Cut Plane is not cutting through the wall, but I cannot see why according to your screen shot. (When I change the Floor Plan Cut Plan to 10'-0" (above the top of the wall), the fills and window disappear.)

For the window, check to see that in its dialog box, under Floor Plan and Section > Floor Plan Display is set to Symbolic, then it should show as long as the Floor Plan Cut Plane is anywhere through the wall (even if it misses the window), unless again under Model View Options > Options for Construction Methods > Window Options is set to Hide on Floor Plan.

Sorry to not be more definitive.
