deleting portions of composite walls

I have created a composite foundation wall with insulation on the outside. In some areas I need to trim the insulation back. Please can somebody tell me: is there an easy way to edit this one skin of the composite wall, or do I need to create a separate wall wherever I want to omit the insulation?

You could use Solid Element Operations, but it will require you to model a shape to use as a cutting form. Note that this will only work in section/3D, not in plan.

how about using the niche window? it can have a depth of the skin you want to remove and whatever width you want...

SEO's are notorious for only making changes in 3D.

The only way to make it show up in plan is to actually make different wall types, which really stinks.

It is really pretty easy to duplicate the composite and change it, and does the job. You can easily split a wall, if necessary, and syringe the new composite to the area where it is needed. Much quicker than messing with Solid Element Operations, and if you are now, or ever will, need to run calculation (material list) you have the proper composite to key in.

It's really very easy, and once you build a good composite "library" you have it. You can always use the Attribute Manager" to apply elsewhere.
